About
Kristine Beacham

Clinical Director | Senior Occupational Therapist

Kris has been working as a hand therapist since 2008, treating patients in the private sector in clinics throughout Perth and the South West region. She studied for her Master’s degree with a split between The University of Sydney, New York University and Curtin University which gave her a great opportunity for a large variety of experience in the field.

Her undergraduate degree in teaching has fuelled her love of teaching others, and as such, she has played a large role in the co-ordination of Occupational Therapy student placements from Curtin and Edith Cowan Universities. She has also presented at state and national conferences on a variety of hand related topics.

Kris has treated many professional sports players following hand injuries, including AFL football players from the Dockers and West Coast Eagles, although some of her greatest successes have been with treating patients in non-operative recovery from wrist ligament injuries, and help people regain full finger movement using a specialised plastering technique that she is trained in.

Kris is well known as being an enthusiastic and confident therapist who will always go the extra mile to assist anyone in their recovery. The relationships she builds with her patients are unparalleled and of supreme importance to her in treatment. She is always available to referring doctors and her patients to help in any way possible at Perth Hand Clinic.

My approach to care:

“I love being challenged in my job and helping patients with a holistic view to help them recover and get back to their daily lives, sports, and activities they enjoy as soon as possible. I value my relationships I build with my patients very much and place them as one of highest priorities. I regularly attend state and national educational conferences on the latest research outcomes and beneficial treatment techniques in hand and upper limb therapy.

I grew up down south on a farm and now love living in the southern suburbs of Perth with my 2 daughters and I enjoy travelling, yoga, and driving my girls around A LOT!”
